The Effutu Municipal Assembly has completed nine projects and handed them over to the beneficiary communities.
Nii Ephraim, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) who said this at the second meeting of the Assembly in Winneba on Tuesday, said the projects were constructed with support from the European Union Micro-Project fund.
The projects include teachers' quarters at Gyangyanadze, 16-seater vault toilets at Warabeba, Sankor-Donbosco, Zion School and Penkye and one three-unit classroom block at Abasraba.
Nii Ephraim said four other classroom project awarded in the last quarter of last year with the support from CBRDP at Akonfodze-Adae, Kojo Beedu, Mburambam and Ateitu-Osubonpanyin are expected to be completed very soon.
The MCE said the Assembly will focus on security, improving access to quality education and health delivery, as well as ensuring good governance this year.
In this regard the Assembly will continue to support the police to maintain peace and security in the area, and also strengthen the works
department with electricians, so that it can take over the installation and management of street light from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
He said plans are far advance for the construction of a Police station at Winneba Junction, to make the services readily available to resident of the Low Cost area that is very far from the police station in the municipality.
Nii Ephraim said the Assembly would secure funding from donors to build about four three-unit classroom blocks for area that are under served and
mentioned area like Winneba Runabout and Atekyedo, where there are no public schools.
The Presiding Member of the Assembly, Mr Alexandra Makin appealed to the assembly members that with Aboakyer celebration around the corner, they should ensure that there is peace during and after the festival.
