Fire swept through a hotel in northern Iraq, killing at least 29 people and wounding at least 40 others, hospital personnel said.
Some of the victims were seen jumping from their windows to escape Thursday's fire at the Soma Hotel in Suleimaniya, north of Baghdad, the BBC
reported Friday.
City officials said it was likely the fire was started by an electrical fault, with no indication it was a result of a terror attack.
Officials said it took seven hours to bring the fire at the five-story hotel under control.
