Three of Africa’s leading professional bodies - the African Marketing Confederation (AMC), the African Supply Chain Confederation (ASCON), and The Technology Information Confederation Africa (TICON Africa) - officially launched a landmark collaborative conference set to take place this September.
Hosted in Zambia by the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM), the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS), and the Information and Communications Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ), the upcoming joint conferences will convene under the overarching theme: ‘Africa Rising: From Continental Strengths to Global Impact’.
The official launch event, held at the InterContinental Lusaka, brought together prominent industry leaders, key stakeholders, and government officials. The event was dignified by the presence of the Guests of Honour representing key sectors of the Zambian Government, highlighting the critical national and continental importance of this collaborative initiative.
This coming together of the three confederations reflects an economic reality: African competitiveness is built through connected systems that must move forward together. The September conferences will explore the critical intersections of these three pillars:
Marketing shapes how African products, services, and destinations compete globally, and how demand is grown sustainably.
Technology determines how quickly Africa builds digital capability, trusted infrastructure, and future-ready skills.
Supply Chains decide whether trade integration, industrialisation, and cross-border delivery work in practice as African markets deepen.
Speaking at the launch on behalf of the confederations, AMC President Helen McIntee, alongside TICON Africa President David Gowu and ASCON President Ronald Mlalazi, emphasised the urgent need for cross-sector collaboration to drive Africa's global footprint.
By uniting marketing vision, technological innovation, and supply chain logistics, the upcoming September conferences promise to be a watershed moment for African business leadership, fostering actionable strategies to translate continental strengths into tangible global impact.
The highly anticipated joint conferences will take place from September 23–25, 2026, in the historic city of Livingstone, Zambia. Delegates, industry leaders, and policymakers from across the continent are invited to gather near the iconic Victoria Falls for three days of high-impact sessions, unparalleled networking, and collaborative strategy. Registration details, the full speaker lineup, and further information regarding the September conferences will be announced in the coming weeks.
