Abdul Karim Bosompem, a 24 year-old farmer, has appeared before the Asamankese circuit court, charged with intentionally and unlawfully causing harm to his brother, which resulted in his death.
He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in prison custody to re-appear on March 4.
Police Chief Inspector Kate Ogyiri, prosecuting, told the court that on September 17, last year, there was a misunderstanding between the deceased, Kofi Abalu and his brother, the accused, at Oworam, near Asamankese.
She said the misunderstanding later generated into a "fierce fight" during, which Bosompem stabbed Abalu with a Knife at the back.
The prosecutor said neighbours rushed to the scene and rushed Abalu to the Asamankese Government Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The accused on learning of the death of his brother went into hiding, but he resurfaced later and was arrested by the local people who handed him over to the police.
