The Member of Parliament for Afram Plains North, Worlase Kpeli, has lamented the severe lack of infrastructure in his constituency, revealing that the area does not have a single tarred road.
Speaking on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News on Monday, May 19, Kpeli described the deplorable state of the road network, saying:
“Not even a tarred road, so don’t go asphalt. No, not even a single tarred road. It is a muddy road.”
He noted that the only semblance of road infrastructure in the area dates back to the PNDC era and has since deteriorated due to years of neglect and lack of maintenance.
Kpeli added that the poor road conditions have had a crippling effect on the local economy and development efforts. However, he expressed optimism about the future, pointing to renewed political will to address the issue.
“With the kind of efforts I am signaling from His Excellency John Mahama, it seems this term is going to be one of the best terms in the life of Afram Plains,” he stated.
