The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Ashaiman, Dr Enerst Norgbey, has outlined a number of road and development projects as part of the government’s commitment to improving the infrastructure deficits and enhancing connectivity to other areas.
Some of the projects include the commencement of a 15-kilometre road construction project to improve connectivity linking the Ashaiman Market through Lebanon to Zenu Atadeka.
Dr Norgbey announced this at a community engagement with constituents of Ashaiman, where he highlighted key projects he had initiated and completed as the representative of the people of Ashaiman.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders and various community interest groups who poured out their concerns and expectations as far as the development of Ashaiman was concerned.
He said one of the key areas of focus, as far as the road redevelopment was concerned, was Newtown Junction, indicating that the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly had been directed to engage the landowner adjacent to the Ashaiman Newtown junction to facilitate re-engineering and redevelopment.
That, Dr Norgbey said, would involve acquiring part of the land to create a small roundabout, allowing heavy trucks and long vehicles to navigate the area easily.
He also mentioned the Afariwa to Ashaiman Newtown junction road, Ashaiman Market to Kubekro road, Fitter line and the Christian Village roads as some of the streets receiving attention under the John Mahama-led government.
Dr Norgbey said work had also commenced on the main Ashaiman to Adjei Kojo Underbridge dual carriage road, where major intersections have been paved, adding that an asphaltic overlay was expected to be completed this year.
The MP also emphasised his efforts to offer youth employment opportunities through various government initiatives.
He said he had assisted 144 young people to graduate from the Community Police and Fire Service programme, while more than 50 people have been supported to be engaged as casual workers at the Tema Oil refinery.
During an open forum, constituents commended the MP for the interventions but demanded more action to bring relief to the people.
The Secretary of the Ashaiman Municipal Private Transport Operators Coordination Council (AMPTOCC), Samuel Amoah, called for remodelling the Ashaiman station to decongest the terminal.
