Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann believes that the Gunners will survive without England full-back Ashley Cole should the defender quit the club before the transfer window shuts.
Cole has been linked with a move to champions, and London rivals, Chelsea although talks have become bogged down over the size of the fee.
The 25-year-old defender didn't play in the Champions League qualifying win against Dinamo Zagreb and was not included in the official team photo for the new season at the Emirates Stadium.
Despite having only added Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky this summer following the departures of Dennis Bergkamp, Sol Campbell and Robert Pires, Lehmann has every faith in the remainder of the squad, who showed their ability last season when reaching the Champions League final.
"We have lost only Dennis, Robert and Sol... maybe now Ashley - but the club has always had a good policy in changing," said Lehmann.
"Dennis was a great player, but he did not play that much last season. It was the same as Sol, Ashley only played a few games and even Robert - he did not make every game last season.
"They are all big, big players and great players - but I think we have to cope with that."
Meanwhile, the German football federation are confident Lehmann will show no ill effects after needing treatment for hypoglycemia following Wednesday's friendly win over Sweden.
Lehmann was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Gelsenkirchen after feeling faint while eating in the Arena AufSchalke following the match.
The goalkeeper was later released and flew back to London, where he will undergo further medical tests with the Gunners following the diagnosis of the condition which sees the body's blood-sugar level drop.
