Qualifications
1. Education:
o Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degrees or professional certifications (e.g., ICAG, ACCA) may be preferred.
2. Experience:
o Six years or more experience in credit management, risk assessment, or a related field in the financial institution is preferred
o Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role may be required.
3. Analytical Skills:
o Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial statements and assess credit risk.
4. Communication Skills:
o Effective written and verbal communication skills, especially in conveying credit terms and policies.
5. Negotiation Skills:
o Strong negotiation skills to work with customers and internal teams to find mutually beneficial solutions.
6. Attention to Detail:
o High attention to detail, especially when reviewing financial documents and credit reports.
7. Problem-Solving:
o Ability to identify and resolve credit-related issues promptly and efficiently.
8. Tech-Savvy:
o Familiarity with credit management software and financial analysis tools.

A Credit Manager plays a crucial role in managing an organization's credit policies and ensuring the effective management of credit risk.
Job Title: Credit Manager
Responsibilities:
- Credit Policy Development:
- Develop, implement, and update credit policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Credit Risk Assessment:
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential customers by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information.
- Determine credit limits and terms for customers based on risk assessment.
- Credit Approval and Review:
- Make decisions on credit applications, either approving or denying credit to customers.
- Regularly review existing credit accounts to assess ongoing creditworthiness.
- Credit Monitoring:
- Monitor customer accounts to identify any changes in credit risk.
- Set up and manage credit monitoring systems to track customer payment patterns and behaviors.
- Collections Management:
- Oversee the collection process for overdue accounts.
- Work closely with collections teams to recover outstanding payments while maintaining customer relationships.
- Customer Communication:
- Communicate credit terms and conditions to customers.
- Address inquiries and concerns related to credit and payments.
- Credit Reporting:
- Prepare and submit regular credit reports to management, highlighting key credit metrics and potential risks.
- Ensure compliance with credit reporting regulations.
- Credit Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments to identify potential credit issues and propose solutions.
- Provide recommendations for credit enhancements or modifications.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with sales, finance, and other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to credit management.
- Collaborate with legal teams on credit-related issues and disputes.
- Compliance:
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations governing credit management.
