JOB OVERVIEW
A leading biomedical engineering company engaged in the supply, distribution, and innovation of medical technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Computer Engineer to join its technical team. This strategic role involves overseeing the design, development, and integration of advanced IT and software systems that support the company's biomedical operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of software engineering, IT infrastructure, and systems architecture—combined with experience in healthcare or regulated environments. This role is critical in ensuring that all digital platforms, data systems, and IT infrastructure meet the high standards of performance, security, and compliance required in the biomedical sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications that support biomedical systems and business operations.
- Translate business and clinical user needs into secure, reliable, and scalable technical solutions.
- Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware interfaces, and data storage systems.
- Integrate and implement new technologies, including biomedical software and system updates, with minimal disruption to operations.
- Ensure robust cybersecurity protocols are in place to safeguard sensitive medical and operational data.
- Collaborate with engineering, product development, and clinical support teams to align IT systems with biomedical product needs.
- Oversee database management (SQL, Oracle, etc.), data migration, and real-time analytics systems.
- Provide technical support, mentoring, and oversight to junior IT staff and crossfunctional teams.
- Develop and maintain system architecture documentation, risk assessments, and SOPs for audit and compliance.
- Participate in regulatory compliance activities, ensuring systems align with standards such as ISO 13485, FDA, or other relevant frameworks.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related
field. - Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in:o Programming (C, C++, Python, Java, or related).
o Software Development Life Cycle (Agile, DevOps, or traditional SDLC).
o Database systems: SQL, Oracle, MySQL.
o IT systems & network administration. - Proven track record in designing and supporting mission-critical IT systems.
- Strong understanding of data integrity, cybersecurity, and infrastructure scalability.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, including technical reporting.
- Experience in the healthcare, biomedical, or pharmaceutical industry.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA,
GDPR). - Experience with project management tools and Agile methodologies.
- Certifications in cloud computing, network security, or system administration (e.g., AWS, CompTIA, CISSP) are a plus.
