Our client, an international clearing and forwarding company which provides total logistic solutions for a
variety of industries in Ghana is recruiting dedicated and hardworking individuals to fill the position of a
Driver.
Location: Takoradi
Reports Directly To: • Transport Supervisor
• Operations Manager
Reports Indirectly To: • Logistics Coordinator
• HR/Admin Department
• Mechanics
Role Purpose:
The Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods to and from designated
locations. This role involves pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, adherence to delivery schedules,
compliance with safety regulations, and providing excellent customer service.
Core Responsibilities:
Quality, Safety, Health & Environment (QSHE) and ISO Standards
• Participate in all Quality, Safety, Health & Environment (QSHE) programmes, audits, identification of
workplace hazards including the companies activities towards the attainment of zero injury work
environment.
• Participate in all Department/Corporate ISO programmes to ensure effective implementation of
Logistics’ Quality Management System (QMS).
• Implement approved Policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Plan(s) and other support
systems for the Transport Section to ensure attainment of targeted objectives.
Transportation and Delivery
• Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods to and from specified destinations.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
• Load and unload goods as per company and customer requirements.
Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections along with mechanics and transport supervisor to
ensure roadworthiness.
• Report any vehicle issues or maintenance needs to the transport manager and mechanics.
• Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and in good working condition.
• Prevent any type of pour offs from vehicle tanks
Compliance and Safety
• Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Wear appropriate and required, PPE’s & uniforms at all times when conducting a company vehicle and
on site.
• Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Maintain accurate records of driving hours, mileage, and delivery details.
Customer Service
• Interact professionally with customers and escalate client communications to transport supervisor.
• Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
• Obtain waybills after delivery.
Documentation and Reporting
• Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately.
• Maintain detailed trip logs and delivery records.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or delays to the transport manager immediately.
Communication
• Communicate effectively with the transport manager and other team members.
• Provide regular updates on delivery status and any issues encountered.
Competencies Requirements:
• Complete knowledge of Fleet/Transport operations, rules, regulations, and other regulatory
requirements.
• Excellent understanding of DVLA, Insurance, Road Safety and other regulatory requirements.
• Excellent driving skills and a clean driving record.
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
• Ability to read maps and use GPS devices.
• Good physical condition and ability to handle goods safely.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines.

Job Specification: Qualification/ Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional truck and trailer driving experience, preferably in the logistics or
transportation industry.
