Job Title: Business Development Manager: Graduate & Professional Education
Reporting to: Vice President, Academic Affairs
Position Summary:
Academic City University seeks a dynamic, results-driven Graduate & Professional Education Admissions Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead the promotion and corporate outreach efforts for its graduate, executive and professional education programs. This individual will be responsible for identifying and cultivating institutional and corporate relationships across Ghana and beyond, driving enrollment into the University’s advanced and executive education offerings.
In addition to sales and outreach responsibilities, the BDM will serve as part of the admissions team, contributing directly to the end-to-end admissions process. The role also requires collaboration with the University’s marketing and communications team and the academic faculty leadership to develop compelling program pitch materials, ensuring alignment between market needs and offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Outreach
- Identify, target, and build relationships with corporations, government agencies, NGOs, and professional bodies across Ghana and beyond for graduate and executive education opportunities.
- Visit prospective partner organizations to pitch programs, present customized training options, and develop lasting engagement.
- Represent Academic City at corporate events, education fairs, conferences, and professional forums to promote program offerings.
- Maintain a database of leads, client contacts, conversations, and progress using ACity’s management systems and tools.
- Admissions Counselling & Recruitment
- Guide prospective students through the admissions process for graduate and professional programs—from inquiry to enrollment.
- Review and follow up on applications, interview candidates, and assist in the evaluation process in collaboration with the admissions team.
- Advise applicants on program suitability, application requirements, and career outcomes.
- Maintain strong and timely communication with prospective students to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
3. Collaboration with Academic & Administrative Units
- Work closely with the marketing, the academic faculties and the Graduate School to develop tailored pitch decks, promotional material, and corporate-facing content for each program.
- Coordinate with the marketing and admissions teams to ensure coherent messaging and effective campaign execution.
- Support the logistics and implementation of corporate cohorts, workshops, and other custom programs.
4. Reporting and Strategy
- Provide regular progress reports to the VP for Academic Affairs on outreach, enrollment status, and partnership opportunities.
- Contribute to strategy discussions for program expansion, market segmentation, and competitive positioning.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Business, Education, Marketing, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business development, corporate sales, admissions counselling, or education marketing.
- Demonstrated ability to sell educational programs or services to corporate or institutional clients.
- Strong interpersonal skills, presentation skills, and the ability to build trusted relationships.
- Familiarity with admissions processes in higher education, especially graduate or professional education, is an advantage.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Comfortable working across departments and with senior academic staff.
