A well-established cambridge school at Kwadaso in Kumasi is seeking to hire an Assistant Head of School. The school runs a Cambridge International Curiculum from Primary to A-Level.
Job Summary: The Assistant Head of School supports the Head of School in the academic and operational leadership of the institution. This role focuses on assisting in the effective implementation of the Cambridge International Curriculum (Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE, and A Levels), supporting staff development, maintaining academic standards, and fostering a safe, inclusive, and high-achieving school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the effective execution of the Cambridge programmes across all levels.
*Collaborate with academic teams to ensure lesson delivery aligns with Cambridge standards and international best practices.
*Support curriculum development and periodic reviews in line with CAIE expectations.
*Support the Head of School in executing strategic initiatives that align with the school’s vision and mission.
*Aid in preparing for Cambridge inspections, school evaluations, and accreditation requirements.
*Help oversee timetabling, resource allocation, and daily academic operations.
*Assist with the recruitment, orientation, and supervision of teaching and support staff.
*Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement among staff.
*Ensure that school policies related to discipline and student well-being are effectively implemented.
*Collaborate with staff to support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
*Help implement programs that encourage positive behavior, student leadership, and personal growth.
*Support communication between school leadership and parents, ensuring transparency and responsiveness.
*Assist in planning and participating in school events, open days, and community engagement activities.
*Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to promote school values and culture.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Education; Master’s in Education/Leadership (preferred).
Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers (CIDTT) or equivalent certification is essential.
Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience with at least 2 years in a middle or senior leadership role in a Cambridge or international school.
Strong understanding of Cambridge International Curriculum and assessment methodologies.
Experience in multi-curriculum environments (e.g., Cambridge, IB, CBSE, ICSE) is an added advantage.
Background in facilitating professional development and workshops is desirable.
