We are looking for an experience electrical engineer to design and implement complex industrial, commercial, and domestic electrical systems.

• JOB PURPOSE:

This position will support operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and optimizing all manufacturing equipment and facilities in a safe and orderly fashion as directed by the Maintenance Manager. This position creates value for the facility/Mills by performing preventative and corrective maintenance leading to increased uptime and reliability (reduce downtimes), thus helping the Mills to meet their production and quality goals.

 

• PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Identify, troubleshoot and repair all electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and simple electrical problems on plant facilities and production equipment (Flour and Feed Milling equipment)


2. Performs preventative maintenance per defined interval/schedule in a timely manner and document maintenance concerns/resolutions; providing action plans and status reports as needed.


3. Perform periodic calibration of weighing equipment. Eg scales.


4.  Troubleshooting electrical, electronic, instrumentation and pneumatic problems in production equipment using schematic diagrams.


5. Show expertise in working with team and independently.


6. Must ensure very good lighting system in the mills and all offices.


7. Must be responsible for the maintenance of all electrical equipment in the mills and the facility.


8. Develop daily electrical maintenance plan for mills


9. Responsible for the daily reading and recordings of energy consumptions and other utilities in the mills and the facilities.


10. Ensure reliability of production equipment for consistent productivity


11. Utilizes appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, safety glasses, face shields, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves and aprons.


12. Responsible for providing coverage in the absence of other electrical Technicians.


13. Prepare daily and or periodic maintenance report on executed tasks.


14. Good knowledge of Air-conditioning system


15. Any other duties as assigned by the Operations manager, Maintenance manager, etc.

 

• KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

1. Must be a holder of BSc Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing sector.


2. HND in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in manufacturing sector.


3. Must have strong Electrical repair/troubleshooting working skills.


4. Must be able to satisfactorily demonstrate proficiency in industrial Machine troubleshooting and Repairs.


5. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization both written and verbal; includes building relationships with team lead and department Manager.


6. Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem solving skills with focus on attention to detail


7. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, job related internet research and ability to learn new maintenance software for daily usage


8. Be able and willing to work in non-ideal environments such as: confined spaces, working at heights, dusty/dirty and around chemicals.


9. Understand, practice and enforce safe work practices related to the following: respiratory protection, elevated work platforms, fall protection, control of hazardous energy (Lockout/Tag out procedure), fire protection systems, electrical safety, forklift/hoist operation, welding, cutting, brazing, confined space entry, PPE and employee Right to Know.


10. Must be familiar with conveyor and elevator systems


11. Must be able to install and program AC drives, work efficiently on PLCs and HMI


12. Must be able to build new circuits and wire new panels.
