Job Purpose

To lead, revitalize and build on the Group's Business content agenda by engaging the right team and applying appropriate strategies to position the brand as a market leader in the business space.

 

Key Accountabilities:

1. You are responsible for the day to day running of the operations of the Business desk.


2. You shall lead the planning and execution of all projects on Business desk that shall lead to market and audience leadership and revenue leadership.


3. You shall collaborate in the design of Business News strategy for Business desk


4. You shall be proactive in carrying out research into business news programmes and advertiser/listener needs with a view to ensuring an increase in productivity and improvement in service delivery.


5. Create brand extensions of existing programmes and bespoke content for the Business desk.


6. You shall provide leadership and motivation to the team to ensure objectives are met.


7. You shall lead in recruiting the team and be responsible for retaining team members, managing team welfare and morale and establishing the sub culture in line with the overall culture of the business


8. You are responsible for internal communications with team members.


9. You shall ensure that the unit content and team comply with laws, regulations, policies and industry code governing media work, our Editorial Guidelines, GJA Code of Ethics and our Code of Conduct etc.
