Qualifications
Education:
Minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Building Technology, Engineering, Estate Management, or a related field.
Technical or vocational training in plumbing, electrical work, or carpentry is an added advantage.
Experience:
At least 3–5 years of experience in facility management, maintenance supervision, or a similar role.
Proven hands-on experience in basic plumbing, electrical repairs, and carpentry.
Experience in supervising cleaning staff and security teams.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and health & safety regulations.
Ability to perform basic handy works and minor repairs.
Good leadership and supervisory skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with staff, contractors, and service providers.
Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and prioritize maintenance needs.
Competence in record-keeping and using basic computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Email).
Personal Attributes:
Physically fit and able to carry out light repairs.
Reliable, proactive, and able to work under minimal supervision.
Safety-conscious with a high standard of cleanliness and orderliness.

Description
The Facility Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, security, safety and cleanliness of the organization’s premises.
- Oversee General Maintenance – Plan, coordinate, and supervise routine and preventive maintenance of the school’s buildings, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Perform Minor Repairs – Handle simple handy works such as basic plumbing, minor electrical fixes, carpentry repairs, and other small technical tasks.
- Supervise Security Operations – Manage and monitor security personnel and systems to ensure the safety of staff, students, and property.
- Manage Cleaning Services – Oversee cleaners, ensuring washrooms, offices, classrooms, and outdoor areas are always clean and hygienic.
- Inspect Facilities Regularly – Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and cleanliness issues.
- Coordinate External Contractors – Liaise with and supervise external service providers for specialized repairs, maintenance, or improvement projects.
- Monitor Utility Usage – Track and manage electricity, water, and other utilities to ensure efficiency and cost control.
- Ensure Compliance with Health & Safety Standards – Implement and enforce workplace safety policies in line with regulations.
- Plan Facility Upgrades and Renovations – Recommend improvements, renovations, or replacements to maintain modern and functional facilities.
- Maintain Facility Records – Keep accurate records of maintenance schedules, repairs, service contracts, and inventory of tools and supplies.
