Role Overview

The Operations Manager will have end-to-end responsibility for managing, optimizing, and scaling factory operations within a cereals and food processing environment. The role requires strong leadership, deep understanding of food manufacturing processes, quality and safety compliance, cost control, and supply chain coordination to ensure efficient, safe, and profitable production.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily factory operations including raw material intake, processing, packaging, and dispatch


• Develop and implement production plans to meet volume, quality, and delivery targets


• Optimize machinery utilization, labor productivity, and production efficiency

• Ensure full compliance with food safety and quality standards (HACCP, GMP, ISO, FDA Ghana standards, etc.)


• Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) across production


• Oversee quality control processes and corrective action systems


• Lead audits and inspections by regulatory bodies and certification agencies

• Coordinate procurement of grains, additives, packaging materials, and consumables


• Manage raw material and finished goods inventory to minimize shortages and overstocking


• Collaborate with logistics and distribution teams to ensure timely delivery

• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety

• Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards

• Drive process improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, yield improvement, waste reduction)


• Contribute operational insights to business growth and expansion plans
