The Technical Director is key management personnel reporting directly to the Chief Executive Office. The purpose of the role shall be to support the CEO in delivering on his mandate to promote the desired business value as set by the board of directors. The successful candidate shall lead the day-to-day operations of core, sundry and auxiliary projects of the business to drive business profitability; as well advise on the policy directions of all technical matters and the associated health and safety control environments for all partners and employees.
The key responsibilities / job descriptions of the Technical Director include but not limited to the following.
· Develop telecommunications and IT project related policies and processes and its best practices for the organization and also ensure that they comply with the government regulations and relevant ISOs
· Demonstrate deep understanding, experience and capacity management of telecommunication transport and IT architecture network systems, including but not limited to microwaves (MW), fibre deployments, towers and internet protocols (IPs) etc.
· Responsible to develop and device business technical strategies to direct and manage varied large-scale projects in line with customer contract obligations.
· Lead and manage contractors and service/solution providers to qualitatively deliver on time to fulfil customers delight and associated SLAs.
· Develop and execute custom-built cost-efficient strategies to manage varied project cost centres and deliver on desired profitability for the business.
· Responsible to prepare the technical and operations annual budget for approval, execute and manage the associated Opex of the same periodically.
· Responsible to effectively manage power and influence grids associated with project stakeholders so to foster right partnership in delivering on project mandates, requirements and expectations for timely and appropriate solutions.
· Responsible to contribute in developing and executing non-technical relevant business procedures with management team for continuous improvements and process excellences.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Telecommunication Engineering
· MSC Engineering or MBA Business administration is advantage
· Additional training / Certification or membership of professional bodies
· MS Windows – Excel. Power Point knowledge etc.
· Basic Engineering Design application, project management
Required Experience:
· Experience of working in a similar position in matured or developing markets;
· at least 10 years relevant work experience in the Telecom and IT space
· Experience of working for a global company is an advantage;
