Description
Department: Sales & Marketing
Reports To: Sales Manager / Head of Sales
Location: Ghana/West Africa
Job Purpose:
To lead and supervise the sales team in achieving sales targets for heavy-duty machinery and equipment within the construction and mining industry. Ensure strategic market penetration, maintain strong client relationships, and drive revenue growth through effective sales management and customer service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise, guide, and motivate the sales team to meet and exceed individual and team targets.
- Allocate sales territories, set performance goals, and monitor progress.
- Conduct regular sales meetings for performance review and strategy alignment.
- Provide coaching, product training, and mentorship to team members.
2. Business Development & Market Expansion
- Identify potential clients in the construction, mining, road works, and related sectors.
- Develop strategies to penetrate new markets and grow existing customer base.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key contractors, project managers, and industry stakeholders.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends to recommend strategic actions.
3. Sales Operations & Execution
- Manage the sales pipeline and ensure timely follow-up on leads, inquiries, and proposals.
- Oversee preparation and presentation of quotations, bids, and product proposals.
- Coordinate demonstrations and field trials of heavy machinery (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, dump trucks, cranes, graders, loaders).
- Ensure proper documentation of sales activities, contracts, and client interactions.
4. Revenue & Target Achievement
- Monitor sales performance and ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
- Collaborate with finance and management on pricing strategies, discounts, and terms.
- Track sales forecasts and report performance metrics to management.
5. Customer Service & After-Sales Support
- Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales and post-sales process.
- Liaise with the service and technical team to ensure smooth delivery, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
- Resolve customer complaints promptly to maintain strong business relationships.
6. Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and present weekly/monthly sales reports and market insights to management.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical standards, and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records in CRM systems and uphold confidentiality of business data.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Good knowledge of CRM tools and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
