Dr. Hajia Rabiu Khartoumi, a lecturer at the University of Ghana, has called on Muslims to foster unity and love among themselves for the promotion of Islam in the country
She reminded them that unity played a very significant role in the growth of their religion and national development.
Dr. Khartoumi was speaking at the opening of the 7th Annual conference of the Greater Accra Regional branch of the Ghana Muslim Mission, in Accra on Sunday.
The conference under the theme: "Forging Ahead in Unity and Love" aimed at raising funds for the completion of the community library and a mission house at Korle-Gonno in Accra.
The 80,000 Ghana cedis project, which had reached the roofing level formed part projects to be undertaken in Muslim communities throughout the country.
Dr Khartoumi noted that education formed the foundation for development and appealed to Muslims to embrace the girl-child education.
Sheikh Haruna Nkansah, National Imam of the Ghana Muslim Mission, asked Muslims to contribute meaningfully to the growth of Islam and led the Mission to pray for the nation
Sheikh Dr. Amin Bonsu, Deputy Imam of the Mission, and Acting Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Mission, asked followers of the religion to refrain from acts that may tarnish the image of the Mission.
