The world is full of conflicts of ideas, cultures, values, concepts and philosophies. The christian finds himself in such a world and is confronted with various forms of conflicts. He is also trying to live a fulfilled spiritual life without compromising the standards and principles of Christ.
The question is: are you working for yourself or working for God? Do you know your God-given assignment or have you given yourself an assignment? Are you using all your gifts and talents or have you buried your talents in the ground?
These are questions that Eddie Carboo, an Evangelist, Lecturer and a Consultant asks and addresses in his book “Be Balanced” which was launched a few days ago at the Christ the King Hall in Accra. A well researched book with lots of insight, the book talks about ‘The Balanced Man”, “Balanced Emotions”, “Balanced Prosperity”, “Balanced Time”, “Balanced Priorities” and Balancing Faith and Works”. It has seven chapters.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof. Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey noted that “Be Balanced” is a scholarly work, which not only treats important secular topics from christian perspectives but boldly discusses issues relating to life and provides a blueprint for successful living.
The Chairman for the Public Interest and Accountability Committees (PIAC), Dr Steve Manteaw, said that the book is a captivating illustration of nature’s disposition towards equilbrium. He said that Eddie Carboo demonstrates great artistry in using real life situiations and scriptures to demonstrate God’s divine purpose for a world that appears to have lost its balance.
The Vice Chancellor of Regent University also remarked that “Be Balanced’ projects ideas that address the African condition and the need for a progressive shift in our mindset.
In his brief remarks about the book, Eddie Carboo pointed out that he was inspired to write the book because he realised that people were clamouring for material things and forgetting that without God they would never be balanced in life.
