The Ameer and Missionary-in-Charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Ghana, Alhaji Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, has called on Muslims to demonstrate their love for the country through the responsible use of Ghana’s resources and practical service to the nation.
He made the remarks during the Muslim Service of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the National Mosque in Kanda, Accra.
Addressing a gathering that included President John Dramani Mahama and other dignitaries, Alhaji Maulvi Bin Salih said the event was not just a ceremony but an opportunity for national reflection and renewed dedication.
He noted that true thankfulness must be shown through deliberate actions that benefit the country.
“Our communities, our shared values, and our sense of belonging are what truly make Ghana what it is today,” he said, encouraging Ghanaians to protect the country’s natural and human resources and uphold the legacy of those who came before.
“Gratitude means using God’s blessings wisely, preserving them, and honouring the responsibilities that come with them.”
Citing verses from the Quran and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), he said national development depends on collective responsibility and a respectful relationship with the land.
According to him, patriotism is part of Islamic faith, and real loyalty to Ghana must show in environmental protection, fairness, and making sure the country’s wealth is used wisely for future generations.
Mr Bin Salih also commended President Mahama for initiating the National Day of Prayer and encouraged Muslims to support him with goodwill.
He said such support, when sincere, could help strengthen national leadership in the years ahead.
He stated that faith and patriotism are closely linked in Islam and urged Muslims to practise these values daily in their dealings with the country.
