The Member of Parliament for Prestea Huni-Valley Constituency Mr Francis Adu-Blay Koffie has expressed profound gratitude to those who voted for him in Election 2008.
Mr Blay, who speaking at thanksgiving service at The Living Word International Church at Prestea, said he could not have been at where to he was if the people had not voted for him.
The MP, who is an Elder of the Church, organised the service in the Junior Staff Club House of the erstwhile State Gold Mining Corporation (SGMC).
In attendance were people from all walks of life and different doctrines including Muslims, NPP supporters, Chiefs, Opinion Leaders and Assembly Members.
Mr Blay urged the people to put the elections behind them and gird their loins for the great task of nation-building saying that the vanquished should not sit on the fence but to get involve in programmes aimed at raising living standards of the people.
He said Prestea was in shambles and needed the support of everybody to help tidy it up.
Mr Blay mentioned education as one of his priority areas to help the children to get the necessary qualification to become marketable in future and said he would not abandon projects initiated by his predecessor Mr Albert Kwaku Obbin.
The Reverend Abeiku Forson, Pastor of the Prestea branch of the Church, said the legacies of Prestea have been destroyed and the people had given him the authority to go ahead to repair it like the Biblical Nehemiah, who rebuilt the fallen walls of Jerusalem.
He told the MP to think about the electorate and not to pursue his selfish interest, adding, that in all challenges he should rely on God through prayers.
