Mr Richard Edem Kwasi Adiku, 56, the Head of the Home Desk of the Ghana News Agency (GNA), will be buried at his hometown, New Awudome, near Anyirawase, in the Volta Region on Saturday, September 26.
He died at the Ridge Hospital on July 11 after collapsing while on duty.
Mr Adiku, who was born on September 7, 1952, attended Accra High School where he obtained his GCE (Ordinary Level) Certificate and Aggrey Memorial School, Cape Coast, where he obtained his GCE (Advanced Level) Certificate.
He entered the University of Ghana, Legon, and graduated with B.A. (Honours) in 1979. He obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism from the same university.
Mr Adiku, who also worked with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), joined GNA in 1985 as a Chief Sub-Editor and rose to the rank of Chief Editor in charge of the Home Desk.
Mr Adiku had not been well but he reported for duty on Saturday, July 11, and worked with his colleagues for the coverage of the visit of US President Barack Obama.
However, he collapsed at about 2030 hours and was rushed to the Ridge Hospital where he passed away.
