Three suspected al-Qaeda militants were killed in an airstrike in southern Yemen, said a security official on Sunday.
The strike carried out late Saturday destroyed a car carrying the insurgents in the southern province of Bayda, the September 6 newspaper, the mouthpiece of the Defence Ministry, quoted the official as saying.
The Yemeni army launched in April a US-backed campaign, including drone air raids, to drive radicals linked to al-Qaeda out of their hideouts in the country's southern provinces.
