The decision, according to the General Secretary of the party, Asiedu Nketia, follows an advice by the Council of Elders of the party, at its emergency meeting.

This means the September 5 deadline has now been extended to September 19, 2018.
Mr Nketia during a media interaction in Accra also announced that the Council of Elders has also advised that the delegates conference be held on November 3, 2018 at the International Trade Fair Centre in Accra.

The conference had been slated for October 28, 2018.

So far 100 aspirants have picked forms to contest for various executive positions in the party.
