The benchmark index moderated by 11.85 points (-0.63%) due to MTN Ghana (-1.75%) to close at 1,862.77 with a -17.47% year-to-date return while the market capitalization decreased by 0.23% to settle at GH¢52.57 billion.
The GSE Financial Index stayed at yesterday’s level of 1,725.21 with a -14.58% year-to-date return while the SAS Manufacturing Index remained unchanged for the third consecutive session, closing at 2,581.74 with a year-to-date return of -25.84%.
Trading activity strengthened as 223,987 shares valued at GH¢147,379 changed hands from 38,891 shares valued at GH¢26,505 in the previous session. MTN Ghana dominated trades by volume and value, accounting for 93.76% of the total volume traded and 79.79% of the total value traded.
We expect activity levels to increase as investors take advantage of bargain stocks.
