The Creative Arts Agency of Ghana (CAA) is set to host the maiden Writin’val, a national writing festival, from Wednesday, June 25-26 at the National Theatre.
The two day festival, commemorating this year’s National Writing Day, is aimed at exploring the cultural, educational, economic and other forms of benefits from the writing industry.
The festival will host a series of sessions including master classes, workshops, performances, panel discussions, business plan presentations among others to celebrate, develop and promote Ghanaian writing industry—towards meeting the demands of educational needs; create employment; resuscitate the eroding beautiful culture of the state and thereby increasing its tourism currency.
The festival will be in two main forms: an online (webinar/zoom) session on Wednesday, June, 25, 2025, to discuss the business aspects of writing; and a physical session at the National Theatre of Ghana on June 26, 2025 where series of activities/sessions would run including book shows, book performances, writing workshops/master classes, writing conventions, to mention but a few.
