Dr Kwasi Inkoom Asimeng, a Manager of the Amalgamated Bank in Kumasi, has counselled the youth to uphold the values of hard work, self-discipline and integrity.
He said this was the way to achieve success, cautioning that, cutting corners would simply not do.
Dr Inkoom was speaking at the regional inter-basic schools brass band festival (Brabafest) held at the Centre for National Culture, (CNC) in Kumasi.
It was jointly organized by the Centre and Soo Macosa Limited, as part of a talent hunt with sponsorship from Multi TV, Ghana Oil Company (GOIL), Cowbell, Indomie, Metro Mass Transit and Nhyira FM Radio Station.
Participating were the Komfo Anokye Memorial, Vicande, Hill Top, Abraham Lincoln Memorial, Maria Montessori, Cambridge International, Sea and Mount Olivet basic schools.
They held the huge gathering spellbound with splendid display of skills and beautiful rendition of some popular Ghanaian highlife and gospel music.
Dr Asimeng said he was amazed by the master-class performance of the school children, adding that, they needed to be encouraged and supported to fully exploit their talents.
He, however, asked them to ensure that they gave equal attention to their books.
Mr Samuel Adjei, Director of the CNC, said he was impressed with the way the children had easily memorized the notations with which they played the various musical instruments.
Mr Joseph K. Online, the Regional Director of Education, was among those who witnessed the performance.
