They included 50 sets of personal protective equipment, bullet proof vests, helmets, goggles, jungle boots and raincoats.

The Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Madam Su Baohong, presented the equipment to the acting Comptroller-General of the GIS, Felix Yaw Sarpong, in Accra.

She expressed the hope that the equipment would help the service to improve law enforcement and enhance its efficiency in ensuring a secure and safe environment in Ghana.

The Ambassador spoke on Ghana-China bilateral relations and fruitful cooperation in the various fields between the countries, and praised the GIS for the support it had been rendering to Chinese working and living in Ghana.

For his part, Mr. Sarpong, commended the fruitful Ghana-China friendship and the contribution of the Chinese government to the socio-economic development of Ghana, expressing the hope that the Chinese government would continue to provide more assistance to the GIS to improve its facilities and capacity building.

He said the GIS would continue to render enhanced service to the Chinese Embassy and Chinese citizens resident in Ghana, and promote Ghana-China relations to a new level.
