The Communication and Media Studies Students Association of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW,) has donated assorted items to the Methodist Raffiki Village, Home of future Leaders at Effutu Gyaahadze, a community in the Effutu Municipality.
The items were up of boxes of indomie, half bag of Gari, crates of eggs and toilet rolls.
The donation forms part of the Association’s annual Hall Week celebration activities and it is to support management of the Home to carter for the children under their care.
Miss Ama Boatemaa Kubi- Appiah, President of the Association, who made the presentation, said the donation also formed part of their corporate social responsibility to the society.
She said the Association for the past four years has been donating similar items to the Home and assured the management that they would continue to support them in divest ways to enable them to give off their best to the children and the society.
Receiving the items Mrs. Mary Asante, Social Relations Officer of the Home, on behalf of management, thanked the group for the support.
She assured that, the items would be used for the purpose for which they were donated, adding that, currently a total of 33 children aged between four and sixteen made up of 19 girls and 14 boys were in their care.
She expressed the need for other benevolent groups and philanthropies to come to their aid.
