The Board Chairman, Mr Aaron Issa Anafure, the Managing Director, Mr Richard Appietu and senior managers   were at Boya in the Bawku West District, where they presented 150 dual desks and 2000 exercise books to the Boya-Kpasarko basic school. The donation was in response to a letter of appeal received from the District assembly, which stated the plight of the children having to sit and write on the floor during lessons, due to the lack of basic amenities. Addressing a durbar of teachers, pupils, parents and elders in the community, the Managing Director of SIC Life Savings and Loans, Mr Richard Appietu, said the company does not only exist to provide financial support to its valued customers but also take into consideration their total well being. He expressed the company’s commitment to extend its outreach program to benefit more needy communities’ especially in deprived areas of Northern Ghana.

Receiving the items on behalf of the school, Hon. Cletus Avoka thanked the company for responding to the plea of the community and advised parents to support the school.

Gbantango Primary and Junior High also in the Bawku West District, received a number of exercise books as well.

The team later presented 1,500 exercise books to the Nabdam district Assembly for onward distribution to five beneficiary schools.

Eight schools in the Talensi District also took delivery of 1,700 exercise books, which were received on their behalf by the DCE, at a durbar held on the premises of St Thomas Acquinas Primary school. Other schools in the district to benefit from the gesture are, inSawaliga, Dakutu, Goriko, and Baapelug primary and kindergarten.

Mr Awunnore, the Head Teacher was grateful to the team and appealed for additional support. Also present at the durbar were dignitaries including, chiefs parents, pupils and staff of the school.
