The Births and Deaths Registry has cautioned the public against engaging with individuals or entities claiming to be agents of the Registry, stressing that it has not licensed any third parties to operate on its behalf.
Speaking with Channel One News’ Fred Duhoe, on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, Deputy Registrar Nicholas Osei Bonsu emphasised that all official services are handled solely by the Registry’s designated district and regional officers.
“When you make payment, you are going to take your receipt, input your information, attach the relevant receipt, and send it to us. You don’t have to pay anyone,” he stated.
Mr. Osei Bonsu emphasised that the registration process is straightforward and does not require intermediaries.
“We don’t have any agent, and we have to license any agent or ask anyone to act on our behalf. We have only our district officers and regional officers who have the power and mandate to do registrations. We do not have agents,” he stated.
