The Head of the Klevia Clan of Anlo, Torgbui Badu IV, has called on members of the clan to uphold the sacred virtues of wisdom and restraint in speech.
Words, he said carried a lot of weight and could define one’s destiny so it was important to exercise some circumspection about what one says.
Torgbui Badu IV, known in private life as Paul Dogboe, gave the advice on Saturday after undergoing the Aforkpadodo rites since his enstoolment as chief of Anyako.
In attendance were high profile traditional authorities including the esteemed Awadada, Torgbui Agbesi Awusu II of Ewedukor, and Torgbui Duklui Attipoe.
The two traditional heavyweights made the journey alongside Torgbui Badu IV to the Klevia Headquarters at the revered Mamagbotonya shrine in Anloga.
According to Torgbui Badu IV, the integrity of one’s character was the foundation upon which legacy was built, adding that any deviation from truth shall summon grave consequences.
“I vow, with the spirit of our ancestors as my witness, that no stone shall remain unturned in the pursuit of justice and the preservation of our sacred stool. Where were you when the sanctity of our heritage was violated by those whom our forefathers welcomed into the Badu household?
‘’Where were you when we stood firm, fighting to restore the dignity of the Badu Royal House, a mission that continues to this day?”
He reminded the people of battles fought to rekindle the legacy of Mama Gbotonya, the first entity to grace the land of Anlo, whose presence, he said shaped the great exodus of the Ewe people from Notsie, which is present-day Togo.
Torgbui Badu IV disclosed that following a directive from Mama Gbotonya, he instructed the Badu Royal Family, The Klevia Clan and Chairman, Professor Fiagbe to renovate the Klevia headquarters in Anloga.
He added that further instructions to conduct the ritual for Mama Gbotonya’s rejuvenation and others have been fulfilled through Professor Fiagbe.
He declared: “I, Torgbui Badu IV, son of Rev. Emmanuel M.C. Dogboe and Celestine Fianu Dogboe, grandson of Paul Kofi Dogboe, bear the names bestowed upon me with honour. A true son of the Klevia Clan, bound by the blood of both father and mother, I shall not tolerate the defamation of my name or the desecration of our sacred stool. For this, I swear before the spirits of our ancestors.’’
He urged the Badu Royal Family to stand firm, unwavering in the face of deceit and division. “Let no member be swayed by falsehoods that lead to disgrace and imprisonment, as we witness in Ghana today.”
He said lands belonging to the Badu Royal Family and the Klevia Clan shall remain within their rightful domain, and what belongs to others shall be theirs and called for unity in strength and purpose.
“My arms remain open to those who have yet to join the united front of the Badu House. The time to act is now, before the gates of destiny close. Delay no longer, for soon, those who hesitate shall only hear the echoes of our march from afar,” Torgbui Badu IV admonished his people,’’ He said.
