The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has announced plans to construct an operating theatre at the Kaneshie Polyclinic before the end of 2026.
The disclosure was made by Accra Mayor Michael Nii Kpakpo Allotey during a surprise visit to the facility to assess its operational needs on Tuesday, February 3.
“They spoke to us about a few challenges they are facing, which have to do with the theatre, and we are going to help. We promised to do that one first before we do anything else.

“Once in a while, we will pass through and assess the place and find out from them what they need assistance with so we can provide them with results,” Mayor Allotey said.
The planned theatre aims to enhance the medical capacity of the Kaneshie Polyclinic, addressing current gaps and improving access to surgical services for residents in the Accra metropolitan area.
