Mr Effah Guakro, President of the Nkoranza District branch of the society of the physically challenged, has called on eligible members to exercise their franchise in the December 7, 2008 elections.
He also appealed to the public to assist the physically-challenged voters to get to their various polling stations to cast their votes.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nkoranza, Mr Guakro said: "Assist the blind and the cripple to move to the voting centres to exercise their civic responsibilities".
He urged members of the society to educate their brothers and sisters to guard against acts, which could create confusions saying "if there should be chaos in the country the disabled would be at a disadvantage".
Mr Guakro urged Ghanaians to promote peace during and after the elections.
He expressed regret that some Municipal and District Assemblies had refused to give the society its share of the assembly's common fund as mandated by law.
He said as at November this year both Nkoranza North and South Districts had not given any assistance to the society neither had they provided them with the two percent of their share of the common fund.
Mr Guakro appealed to the administrator of the assembly's Common Fund to direct the assemblies to make available their portion.
