An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale hit the sea area off the Pacific island nation of Fiji on Sunday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The quake occurred at 05:49 a.m. Fiji local time (1749 GMT on Saturday) and was centered 425 km southeast the Fiji capital of Suva with a depth of 566 km.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damages.
