THE National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Ho Central, Edem Kofi Kpotosu, last Sunday presented a consignment of tracksuits, jerseys and toiletries worth about GH¢30,000 to the municipal sports contingent.
The presentation, which was done before they departed for the 54th Volta Region Inter-District Basic Schools Sports Festival in Hohoe, was to boost their morale at the tournament.
“There is no point going for the sports festival without the appropriate kits for the event,” Mr Kpotosu stated during the presentation ceremony.
Mr Kpotosu urged the team to bring honours to the constituency by winning as many trophies and medals as possible. The festival, which started last Sunday, is expected to end on May 23.
The lawmaker maintained that supporting the sports teams with their basic needs would definitely help to discover great talents among them.
The Ho Municipal Physical Education Coordinator, Freeman Azumah, thanked the MP for the gesture, which, he said, was timely and appropriate.
He said the municipal sports contingent was made up of 150 members, adding that the tracksuits and jerseys would fittingly brand the team and help build their confidence for the tournament.
He was optimistic the contingent would return from Hohoe with great honours.
