Korean startups seeking partners in Africa
Since 2023, KAF has supported 35 Korean startups at GITEX Africa to test, learn, and build local traction.
Several startups from previous editions have already initiated pilot projects in East Africa, engaged with public and private partners, signed initial agreements or MoUs, while adapting their products to local operational constraints.
For example, livestock tech startup Bodit has initiated PoC projects with two Moroccan farms, while edutech innovator Dabida secured a $200,000 export contract during GITEX.
"Morocco offers a particularly relevant entry point for Korean startups looking to expand into Africa. What we observe on the ground is that technology alone is not enough — what makes the difference is the ability to work with local partners, understand operational constraints, and progressively adapt solutions to real use cases." Jongkil Lee, Director, Korea-Africa Foundation
