Job Summary
The Production Manager - Soap is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all soap manufacturing operations to ensure efficient production, consistent quality, cost control, and compliance with safety, GMP, and regulatory standards. The role ensures optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and raw materials while meeting production targets and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities Production & Operations
Plan, organize, and oversee daily soap production activities (toilet soap, laundry soap, liquid soap, or specialty soaps).
Ensure production targets are achieved in line with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Optimize production processes to improve efficiency, yield, and throughput.
Coordinate batching, saponification, drying, milling, plodding, cutting, stamping, and packing operations. Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, HACCP, and regulatory standards.
Work closely with Quality Assurance to maintain product specifications and consistency.
Investigate and resolve quality deviations, process failures, and customer complaints. Equipment & Maintenance
Ensure proper operation and maintenance of soap production equipment.
Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with engineering teams.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and waste. Team Leadership
Lead, train, and supervise production supervisors, technicians, and operators.
Develop staff capability through coaching, SOP training, and performance reviews.
Enforce discipline, safety rules, and standard operating procedures. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Ensure strict adherence to occupational health and safety policies.
Promote a strong safety culture and conduct regular safety audits and toolbox talks.
Ensure safe handling of chemicals, raw materials, and finished goods.
Cost & Inventory Control
Monitor raw material usage, waste, and variances.
Collaborate with procurement and warehouse teams to manage inventory levels.
Support cost-reduction initiatives and budget control. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Prepare and analyze production reports, KPIs, and efficiency metrics.
Drive continuous improvement projects (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM where applicable).
Support new product development, trials, and scale-up activities. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
