The Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) has stated that the vision of the Founder of the party, Akua Donkor, will guide the party’s mission to remain a strong and active champion of development.
“The Ghana Freedom Party is not dead, and the passing of our Founder, Akua Donkor, will not break our resolve.
Instead, it has strengthened our commitment to serve the people of Ghana with integrity, courage, and bold solutions,” it said.
The leader of the party, Philip Appiah Kubi, popularly known as Roman Fada, renewed the commitment of the party at a press briefing in Accra.
The leadership of the party commemorated the first anniversary of the passing of Ms Donkor, with a solemn ceremony in her hometown of Ejuratia in the Afigya Kwabre District in the Ashanti Region.
The leadership of the party also visited her graveside to pay their respects and reaffirm their commitment to her legacy.
Mr Appiah Kubi assured Ghanaians that the GFP was reorganising and preparing to become a formidable force ahead of the next national elections.
“We are not fighting for positions; we are fighting for the soul of Ghana.
The Ghana Freedom Party will rise again, stronger and more united, to continue the work Akua Donkor started — to free Ghana from the politics of division and greed,” he stated
He said Ms Donkor’s political philosophy was never about personality-driven politics, but rooted in offering Ghanaians a genuine development built on service, not greed, and to break the dominance of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in government.
He indicated that the GFP had initiated a series of revival and restructuring programmes, such as youth mentorship initiatives and entrepreneurship support schemes, to attract young Ghanaians.
“The youth of Ghana are the heartbeat of our future.
The Ghana Freedom Party is opening its doors to every young person who believes our nation can do better.
We are building a movement that will restore hope and create opportunities,” he stated.
Mr Appiah Kubi announced that the GFP was mobilising credible, corruption-free personalities from various professional backgrounds to form the party’s next generation of leaders.
“We are not looking for politicians who want to enrich themselves.
We are recruiting men and women of integrity, competence, and compassion — people who understand that leadership is about sacrifice,” he said.
