A number of new additions to the Aurecon management team for the Middle East have been announced, each with a view to delivering higher value expertise and experience to clients with ambitious dreams for the region. The new leaders are: Gary Fisher, Unit Manager-Transport Services, Middle East; Rob C. Gregory, Technical Director – MEP, Middle East; and Shelley Reid, Work Winning Director, Middle East.

Ermis Marques, Aurecon’s Regional Director – Middle East, said the appointment of so many senior leaders in a relatively short time frame reflected the company’s growing ambitions in the Middle East.

“We’re delighted to welcome these new appointments who collectively give us added depth across the board. Gary Fisher

Gary Fisher has more than 30 years’ experience in the planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of transport infrastructure, in both public and private sectors. He has worked closely with government, industry and community stakeholders to plan and deliver infrastructure projects. In addition, he has extensive experience in managing consultants and contractors to ensure the on-time and on-budget delivery of projects.

After joining Aurecon in 2012 as Transport Industry Leader for the company, based in Australia, he moved to the Middle East in 2014 to take up the position of Design Project Director for the Doha Expressway in Qatar, and has now been appointed Aurecon’s Unit Manager – Transport Services.

“Governments and others here are not afraid to have big ideas and audacious dreams,” he said. “This includes achieving driverless, autonomous transport through initiatives such as automated GRT (Group Rapid Transport) vehicles or pilotless flying vehicles. The latest technological solutions are being embraced, even for traditional systems like road and rail, or for transport masterplanning. So for us, it’s all about understanding the needs of our clients, adding our unique value, and helping to bring their ideas to life.”

Rob C. Gregory

Rob C. Gregory has over 35 years’ experience in both MEP and project management spheres. In his new role, he will oversee a host of services and disciplines on projects, including M&E, Structures, Fire & Life Safety, Utilities, Energy, Specialist Lighting, Vertical Transportation and Integrated Building Services. His duties will include liaising with and directing clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers.

Before joining Aurecon, Rob served as Technical Director at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff in its Middle East office, having transferred from WSP UK in 2003. His first role with the company covered the project management and delivery of engineering services for the Mall of the Emirates retail facility in Dubai. On completion of this, he became Retail Division Director at the company and remains one of the world’s leading authorities on MEP and project management delivery for the retail industry.

“Over the course of my career, I have embraced the successive challenges my work has presented, and it gives me immense pride to walk into a newly completed building, whether retail, commercial, leisure or hospitality, that I have overseen from client inception to commissioning,” said Rob. “Joining Aurecon is a new and exciting challenge for me, and I’m looking forward to working with colleagues and clients to develop the next phase of commercial and leisure infrastructure in the Middle East.”

Shelley Reid

Completing the line-up of impressive new Aurecon appointments is Shelley Reid who joins as Work Winning Director. In her role, she will create market-competitive tenders, bolstering Aurecon’s ambitions to work on the very best projects in the Middle East. She will provide strategic leadership both in terms of sourcing and bidding for projects.

Shelley previously served as Head of Bidding at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, and before that was Business Development Commercial Manager at the same firm. With more than 15 years’ experience in financial and commercial roles, Shelley’s previous project wins include developments linked to virtually all the Gulf Cooperation Council’s major government entities; as well as leading global and regional architects, developers and contractors.
