The Reverend Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong, Ashanti Regional Chairman-elect of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has called on Christians not to alienate themselves from national issues.
He noted that Christianity bother on the improvement of the living conditions of adherents, therefore exposing government policies and programmes to Christians would help them to participate effectively in the country's development process.
Rev. Opuni-Frimpong, who made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi on Sunday, said Christians could better understand and appreciate the socio-economic activities of government when they were better informed to know the benefits of such efforts in their lives.
The chairman pointed out that Christianity had in modern times taken a new dimension, hence the high global expectation for Christians to be problem-solvers and development-oriented, while propagating the gospel to improve on the progress of mankind.
He tasked the Church to mobilize resources to create job opportunities for unemployed Christians to help to reduce poverty.
