• One of Jennifer Lopez's last looks at the 2025 AMAs was a bold, black jumpsuit with a dangerously low back that almost exposed her butt

• The singer stepped out in eight total looks for the awards show, which lasted roughly two hours

• "I don't know what's going to wind up on the show... it'll be a lot of last-minute decisions, I think," Lopez told PEOPLE ahead of the show

Jennifer Lopez is no stranger to a bold fashion statement.

During her hosting gig at the 2025 AMAs, the singer stepped out in eight total outfits in the span of the two-hour awards show. One of the last looks — arguably her most daring of the night — was a form-fitting black jumpsuit that left her entire back on display.

The jumpsuit, by Monot, featured wide-cut legs, a diamond-shaped bodice and shiny black texture throughout, but what stole the show was the back. Left completely open, the jumpsuit's back cut into a wide V shape — nearly exposing her butt.

Days ahead of the AMAs, Lopez told PEOPLE she was waiting until the last second to decide on her looks. Her tastes are constantly changing, she added.

"We started doing our fittings just yesterday and there's so many things to choose from," Lopez, 55, told PEOPLE. "I don't know what's going to wind up on the show... it'll be a lot of last-minute decisions, I think."

Determining looks for a performance or hosting gig, like this one, is often a collaborative process between Lopez and her stylists. The team "kick around ideas" to properly suit the vibe of the appearance, Lopez told PEOPLE, because her fashion is especially dynamic.

"We feel it out because I think it does change," Lopez added. "For me, my feelings change from month to month, like, 'Who do I want to be today?' because I feel like there's so many different sides to who I am fashion-wise."

In addition to the bold jumpsuit, Lopez appeared in seven other outfits at the AMAs. First stepping on stage for a musical performance, Lopez sported a nude, crystal-covered bodysuit with abstract black accents. She then did a complete 180, starting her hosting duties with a Swarovski crystal-embroidered Miss Sohee halter-neck gown — with a daringly high slit up the front — paired with a turquoise blue silk duchess opera cape.

Elsewhere in the night, she wore a metallic gold halter dress, complete with bold cutouts on the skirt that exposed both her legs, followed by a dramatic black coat with sheer, voluminous sleeves, satin lapels and a tie at the waist. She kicked off the second half of the awards show with a bright blue strapless sequin gown with exaggerated hips, then transitioned into a metallic silver gown with large, square cutouts and a flapper fringe skirt.

Following the daring black jumpsuit, Lopez rounded out the night in a flowy light brown dress with a plunging neckline, adorned with bold gold closures at the neck and waist, and of course, more cutouts on each side.
